The SSVF Program seeks to secure and maintain the housing stability of very low income veteran families. It provides first month and security deposits to homeless veteran families, and rental arrears to those who are in danger of homelessness.
The program may also assist with moving expenses, licensed childcare, emergency housing and utility arrears if any of those expenses directly threaten housing stability.
Since 2013, our SSVF program has assisted 75 veteran families which included 538 individuals, providing a total of $634,234 in temporary financial assistance. These numbers do not effectively communicate the extent of human suffering on the part of individuals and families which this program has prevented.
