Lt. Colonel, Mike Dunford is a retired Marine Corps Reserve Officer and veteran of the Multinational Peacekeeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon, and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In addition to his role as a veteran advocate, Mike is currently a leadership and human resources consultant, who had served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Covidien, an $11B global medical device company with 38,000 employees operating in more than 70 countries. Following the acquisition of Covidien in 2015, he founded the Dunford Consulting Group focused on executive leadership coaching and the development and execution of HR and talent related strategies.

In addition to the Cape and Islands, Mike serves as an advisor and member on several boards to include Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Edge4Vets, The Human Resources Leadership Forum (HRLF), Year Up Providence.

Mike also currently serves as an instructor for the FourBlock Program based at Columbia University, helping veteran students prepare for civilian careers; and on the steering committee of the Greater Boston Veterans Collaborative (GBVC) where he leads the employment work group. Mike holds a Bachelors Degree from Boston College and a Masters Degree from Lesley University.
